Alexandra Menendez is a Los Angeles based photographer whose work explores femininity and the role of women within Latinx families. She uses self-portraiture, and the moving image to reimagine notions of value in traditional Mexican households. She received her BFA in Art photography from California State University, Long Beach.
She holds an associates degree in Art History from Cerritos College, where she participated and was awarded an Honorable mention in Photography for the Student Art Exhibition in 2019 by The Cerritos College Art Gallery & Fine Arts and Communication Division, for an experimental group polaroid collage display. She exhibited her work on With Distance, an online Art Exhibition in experimental practices in 2019 and Before we go, a BFA Exhibition, at Merlino and Gatov Galleries in 2022.
